Referee flies the flag in Minnesota
During the tournament, Referees get the opportunity to officiate in games in a variety of age ranges and are supported by a team of observers and mentors who seek to use the tournament as an opportunity to further develop the referees. After each game, the observers award the referee a mark and at the end of the tournament these marks are collated and we are pleased to announce that Declan Brown received a Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Male Youth Referee, with the overall winning referee coming from China.
Declan, a Level 5 Referee from Salisbury, commented “This was a great tournament and a week of intense refereeing of International football with its variety of challenges, along with having to tackle the souring Minnesota temperatures”.
Wiltshire FA Referee Development Officer, Kevin Small was delighted that Declan had the opportunity to attend the tournament and that he had such a successful week. “This will be a tremendous boost for Declan as he seeks to get promoted to Level 4 Football Referee. I wish him well for the coming season”.
