IT’S TIME TO RECOGNISE YOUR GRASSROOTS HERO!
We are delighted to launch the Wiltshire FA and Charlton Baker Grassroots Football Excellence Awards 2022.
This year, alongside the annual England Football & McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards, we are including an additional eight awards to recognise and thank more clubs, leagues, players, volunteers and projects that are making a difference in grassroots football in Wiltshire with a big celebration event planned for June 2022.
Oliver Selfe, Wiltshire FA CEO said, “It’s time to start thinking about those people in the grassroots game who deserve recognition.
“Last year we congratulated coaches who provide inclusive football opportunities, referees who continually progress to be the best they can be, volunteers who go the extra mile, players who never give up, grounds team who work tirelessly to keep the game going and clubs and leagues who offer an excellent football provision in our County.
"There is so much to celebrate in Wiltshire football, please take the time, make the nomination and recognise those who are making a difference.”
England Football and McDonald’s have been recognising and celebrating the people who put their heart and soul into the grassroots game across England for many years. In 2020 Charlton Baker partnered with Wiltshire FA to further reward the remarkable contribution to football in Wiltshire.
Luke Rudman, Associate Director at Charlton Baker said, “Our partnership with Wiltshire FA started in 2020 just before the world was hit by Covid. Although we were able to award some fantastic work last year, we are very excited to be continuing our sponsorship this year, so we can again thank the grassroots football community for their time, dedication and commitment with our Excellence Awards, which this time around will include an awards ceremony in the summer.
“Charlton Baker core values include excellence, being a difference maker, teamwork and holding real relationships. We are passionate about supporting the awards as all these values are reflected in the grassroots football community week in, week out.
“Our awards focus on the people making a difference. The people who are pioneering disability football, the people who show determination and resilience in their game, the people who are using football to enhance the Wiltshire community and the people who are trying to raise the standard of football.
“We are also on the look out for the Clubs that provide an excellent Wildcats programme for young girls to try the game and along with Strakers Estate Agents and iPRO Hydrate we also want to celebrate the clubs who are going above and beyond for to ensure they are providing safe, healthy and sustainable environments.”
Local accountancy firm Charlton Baker offer a blend of accounting, taxation and business and legal services with offices in Devizes and Pewsey with a new office opening soon in Trowbridge.
With a total of 18 awards up for grabs, 10 from England Football and McDonald’s and an additional 8 from Charlton Baker this is a great opportunity to nominate someone for the positive impact they have made.
Oliver concludes, “We want to thank our incredible volunteers, who inspire us all. Please nominate the person who behaves with fairness and integrity, the fun, safe and inclusive environments where you enjoy football. The coaches, referees and volunteers who encourage the best, in both themselves and everyone around them. The people who have risen to overcome challenges and the people who make a truly positive impact in their community, we want to reward them!”
Nominations are open from 4th April – 16th May.
