World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day 2024

We’re proud to be supporting World Mental Health Day.

Thursday 10 October 2024 is World Mental Health Day, and Wiltshire FA is proud to be supporting this important day of awareness.

Let’s all come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters.

Talking about our mental health can help us cope better with life’s ups and downs. So, on World Mental Health Day and beyond it, why not check in with your friends, family, peers, or colleagues?

We’re passionate about supporting the health and wellbeing of our local communities, both physical and mental. That’s why we have teamed up with the Football Mental Health Alliance who provide access to ALL of our clubs, leagues, officials, players, and volunteers to The Vault.

The Vault is an incredible online resource, which is packed with useful information, resources and links to organisations, to support the mental health of everyone involved in the game.

In addition, in November, The FMHA will be hosting three online events, two of which follow on from demand from members of the grassroots football community nationally to educate on two key topics – neurodiversity and suicide.

You can now register for both events via the links below, which also include further information on both.

Understanding Neurodiversity in Grassroots Football – 20 November, 6pm-9pm

Brad Burton – Motivation and Mental Health – 24 November, 7pm-8pm - FREE

90 Minutes to Tackle the Male Suicide Crisis – 28 November, 6.30pm-8pm - FREE

World mental health day, hello yellow

Stand Out and Show Up

Ron is wearing yellow today to show is support for mental health.

Ron, Wiltshire FA, our Clubs, Leagues and Welfare Officers across the County stand together in support of young people struggling with their mental health, to show they matter and deserve the help they need, when they need it, no matter what.

Young people are experiencing a unique set of pressures for a generation growing up, living through a pandemic and cost of living crisis against the backdrop of global instability, combined with other factors such as academic pressure and social media, all of which is taking a toll on their mental health.

Here is Ron's ways to wellbeing:

  • Be kind and help others

  • Connect with family & friends

  • Care for the planet

  • Keep learning & be active

  • Enjoy your happy place
