Thank You, Bazil
Wiltshire FA and Swindon Town FC Foundation pay tribute to the contribution of Bazil Solomon in his work to make football in Wiltshire more welcoming and accessible to all.
As Bazil Solomon steps down from the role of Chair of the Inclusion Advisory Group, Alan Smith, Chair of Wiltshire FA, said: “Bazil is unwavering in his commitment to football in Swindon and in Wiltshire.
“Allied with his passion for the game is his wish that it should be a place for all to enjoy their involvement – in whatever form that takes.
“Whilst there is much to do in this regard, we should also reflect on the progress that has been made, and as Chair of the Inclusion Advisory Group, Bazil has played a significant part in this.
“Football is for all, though to make this a reality takes intent, engagement, and persistence – we cannot simply ‘wish it to be’.
“This means identifying and removing barriers to participation, and most especially working with different communities to understand how the game at all levels can be more welcome to people of all backgrounds.”
A process will start immediately to find the person to lead the Inclusion Advisory Group.
Simon Russell, Chief Executive Officer of Wiltshire FA, added: “Everyone associated with Wiltshire FA thanks Bazil for the contribution he has made in driving inclusion across the game in our county.
“His dedication to the game is commendable, and we share his belief that football should be for all. We will build on the work to date.”
